The Werregue Bracelet represents the essence of Colombian ancestral art. Handwoven entirely by indigenous artisans from the Wounaan ethnic group and other communities of the Pacific region, it is made from natural fibers extracted from the werregue palm (also known as chunga), native to Chocó, and combined with copper threads. Its harvesting and preparation require a careful and respectful process in harmony with nature.
Werregue is a fine, strong, and flexible plant fiber traditionally used to create pieces of great cultural value. Its unique texture allows for intricate designs that combine techniques passed down through generations with patterns full of meaning. Each design tells a story: every fiber speaks of territory, tradition, and the Wounaan culture's deep connection to Mother Earth.
Every bracelet is a unique piece: its geometric shapes, colors, and weaves reflect the cultural identity of its creators and add an authentic artisanal touch to any style. Its open structure allows it to easily adapt to the wrist, providing a comfortable and secure fit without the need for a clasp.
Our recommendation: mix and match multiple werregue bracelets of different colors and thicknesses to create a combination full of character and personality. Every combination tells a different story… make it yours and connect with the soul of handmade art!
